Obituary for
Francis P. Mainieri
Francis “Frank” P. Mainieri, 71, of Long Branch, died suddenly on Saturday, August 20, 2016.
He resided in Oceanport for 20 years before returning to Long Branch. He was a quality assurance specialist at Navair Systems Command in Lakehurst for 25 years which enabled him to travel the world before retiring in 2004. He attended St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in West End, Long Branch and was a member of IAMA in Long Branch. He will be remembered by his friends and family as a kind, generous, and humble man who enjoyed walking the Long Branch boardwalk and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid baseball fan since a young child playing in the 1956 Long Branch Little League Badgers which won the championship. He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Josephine Mainieri.
Surviving are his children, Frank Mainieri and his wife Dorita and Michele Luongo and her husband Gino; brother, Henry Mainieri and sister, Martha Akers; four grandchildren, Dora, Anthony, Alexandra and Nicholas and his former spouse, Carol Manieri. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4 to 8 pm Thursday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township.
