Obituary for Thomas Piasio

Thomas Piasio
Thomas Piasio, 60, of West Long Branch, NJ (born in Brooklyn, NY), is survived by his wife, Cherie; three children, Charles and his wife Lindsay, Caresse and her husband Jonathan, and Chelcie and her boyfriend AJ Bale; and his father, Walter.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4-8pm on Monday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 822 Broadway, West Long Branch. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday at Star of the Sea Church, 101 Chelsea Ave, Long Branch.

"If you are reading this, it means my time has passed. Typically, this is where personal stuff about my life is written, like how I was the Grand Poo-bah of the Raccoon Lodge. However, as I am sure those who knew me best would expect, I have to get a few additional words in.
Knowing what I know now, I would not change a thing about my life. Nobody could be luckier than me. Since I have spoken to my family privately, I’d like to thank a few people outside of my family that have touched my life in a very memorable and rewarding way.
Pat D’Esposito, Carlo Manna, Joe Bonavico, and Anthony Casalino: Thank you for being my friend.
To the men of VFW Post #2226 in Oakhurst: Thank you for accepting me into your Post as your guest, the BBQ’ing, getting me out on the golf course for fresh air and exercise, and the constant calls and prayers. You’ve helped keep me going these past few years. I can’t thank you enough. Jimmy, Tony, Pete Murphy, Joe Novo, Big Pete, George, Smoke, and all you pretty bartenders: You are the best.
I never had a sister, but if I did, there would be no better sister for me than Tracy Ilvento (even though you dropped the pink ribbon off my fish – wink-wink).
To the world out there, you cannot find better friends than Joe Ilvento and Phil Genovese. You were the two best friends I ever could have had. I consider our friendship as one of my life’s greatest gifts. You made my life worth living.
Look up the word “brotherhood” in the dictionary, and you should see the faces of Nick Sestito and Len “Twig” Brock. Nobody knows brotherhood better than Nick and Len. Thank you both for always calling me and your prayers. I will always love you.
In lieu of flowers and prayer cards, please make donations to the VFW Lodge in Oakhurst, NJ Post #2226."
