Jane West
Jane Youngs West, 85, of Seabrook Village, Tinton Falls, formerly of West Long Branch, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at home.
She was born in Spring Lake on July 21, 1931 and lived in West Long Branch since 1957 before moving to Seabrook Village. She was a 1949 graduate of Neptune High School. She was a member and sang in the choir at Old First United Methodist Church in West Long Branch, Lavinia Mount Circle, Jersey Shore Women’s Club and the Leisure Club of West Long Branch.
She worked for various doctors including Dr. Martha Schreiber until her retirement in 1998. Jane and her husband loved to travel. They visited Europe, Spain, New Mexico and Switzerland. On their 50th wedding anniversary they returned to Hawaii.
Mrs. West was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Peter West in 2010; her parents, John and Genevieve Youngs and her step-mother, Mildred Youngs.
Surviving are a son, John and his wife Debbie West; 3 daughters, Cynthia and her husband Robert Russo, Sharon West and Pamela West; sisters, Genevieve Barbur and Jacqueline Capestro and 6 grandchildren, Aaron, Joshua and Danielle West, Amanda and her husband Chesson Ambrose, Robert Russo and Jessica Colvin.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 6-8 pm Friday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral service 11am Saturday at Old First United Methodist Church, West Long Branch. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum in Oceanport.
